Three living-history museums and two national park sites along the scenic Colonial Parkway present three major historical events -- the planting of America's first permanent English settlement at Jamestown in 1607, the fiery debates on revolution at Colonial Williamsburg and the climactic campaign of the American Revolution at Yorktown in 1781. The sites span just 23 miles across a single narrow peninsula between Virginia's James and York rivers.


The Historic Triangle Pass includes the following attractions:

  • Jamestown Settlement: A living history museum of 17th-century Virginia. Learn the story of Jamestown through gallery exhibits and living history in outdoor settings. Explore the re-created Powhatan Indian village, board one of the replicas of the three ships that landed in 1607, try on armor in the re-created colonial fort, and take part in one of many hands-on activities at the riverfront discovery area. Don't Miss A New World: England's First View of America July 15 through October 15, 2008. See John White's drawings, the earliest visual record by an Englishman of the flora, fauna and people of the New World.
  • Historic Jamestowne: The site of America's first permanent English settlement, Historic Jamestown offers a wealth of activities. Witness archaeology in action at the 1607 James Fort excavation, see the original 17th century church tower, and take a walking tour through the historic townsite. Visit the Arcaearium which displays many of the artifacts unearthed in the fort, watch costumed glassblowers at the Glasshouse, and drive the scenic Island Drive.
  • Colonial Williamsburg: America's oldest and largest live interactive history experience, Colonial Williamsburg's 301 acre Historic Area brings Virginia's 18th century capital city to live every day. Visit the shops and taverns where Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry and others  conceived the ideals of liberty, independence, and personal freedom that influenced the founding of this nation. Join in Colonial Williasmburg's Revolutionary City, a dynamic two-hour event. Listen as the newly written Declaration of Independence is read to the citizens.
  • Yorktown Victory Center:  A museum of the American Revolution, the Yorktown Victory Cetner chronicles America's struggle for independence, from the beginnings of colonial unrest to the formation of the new nation. Wander through the gallery exhibits that highlight the experiences of ordinary men and women who lived during the Revolutionary era. Outdoors, experience a soldier's life while mustering with troops in a re-created Continental Army encampment. On a re-created 1780s farm, help with chores such as weeding the gardens and processing flax.
  • Yorktown Battlefield: The site of the final major clash of the American Revolution, Yorktown Battlefield allows visitors to follow in the footsteps of General Washington and walk where this historic event took place. Visit the Moore House where surrender negotiations took place, see the site of the British siege including tents used by George Washington.

Take Our Free Shuttle and Leave the Driving to Us! Running daily through October 31, two routes of the Historic Triangle Shuttle provide bys transportation every 30 minutes along the Colonial Parkway from Colonial Williamsburg's Visitor Center, one bound for Jamestown and the other destined for Yorktown. Once arriving at Jamestown, the Jamestown Area Shuttle provides transportation between Historic Jamestown, Jamestown Glasshouse, and Jamestown Settlement. The Yorktown Trolley provides transportation between Yorktown Battlefield, the Yorktown Victory Center, and Riverwalk Landing.

Package includes unlimited visits for 7 consecutive days, and 2, 3 or 4 nights of your choice of more than 70 accommodations from budget, midrange to deluxe. This package is offered year round. Your tickets will be delivered to your hotel. Children ages 0-5 do not require a ticket for this package.
