Revolutionary War Lecture Series at the Yorktown Victory Center
Revolutionary War lectures at the Yorktown Victory Center at 7 p.m. September 22 and 29 and October 6 and 27, 2012, commemorate the 231st anniversary of the American victory at Yorktown in 1781. September 22: “Patriots Claim A New Destiny; Loyalists Defend Their Heritage in the United States of America,” Sarah Meschutt, Yorktown Victory Center Senior Curator. September 29: “‘Like the peace of God, it passeth all understanding’: The Peace of Paris (1763) and the Unforeseeable American Revolution,” Fred Anderson, University of Colorado at Boulder Professor of History and author. October 6: “Battle of the Capes,” John A. Tilley, East Carolina University Associate Professor of History and author. October 27: “Origins of the Constitution,” Abner (Woody) Linwood Holton III, University of Richmond Professor of History and American Studies and author. The evening public lectures are free.
